Running behind...always

It seems these days I am at least a few days behind myself. These photos are from about a month ago. Papa went to the ski hill where they actually had a tiny bit of snow and took Micro on his first ski adventure. I am happy to announce we have at least 10" on our deck right now and it is still snowing. Yeah for snow!

I have been on a mini blog vacation. We have been sitting in kitchen sinks, skiing and praying for snow. Thats it really...

dance it out

Micro has taken a BIG liking to Lionel. It is his favorite record, and he loves dancing around with the record sleeve open. Wonder where he learned that from.

in the arms of comfort

Last week we went iceskating in Santa Rosa with family and it was right at nap time. Clearly O was comfortable in his uncles arms. They Skated around this way for quite a while. SOOO Sweet!

A once (at least) a week tradition. An outing just for us!

negative ions

Micro and I took a mini vacation last weekend with the mini dog in tow. We spent tons of quality friend time as well as spent some much needed time soaking in the negative ions of the beautiful pacific. What a breathe of fresh air! I am renewed and ready to roll.

We had a magical weekend with our good friends in Sonoma County! Micro grew by leaps and bounds. It was a much needed trip to the land of green grass and cows. I will post more pics soon :)

family time

With the current lack of snow we have had a few opportunities to get outside as a family. This beautiful spot is just a hop skip and a jump from our house so we snuck down there just before sunset.

let it snow... Please

I am not one to complain about the weather... so I am not complaining, I am just noticing that we really really really need snow. I guess since we had snow all the way into June this year I shouldn't really be that shocked that winter is pushed a bit back.

The ice skating has been amazing on all the small lakes! and people are still biking! Its JUNUARY up here in the mountains. Put on your bikini and come on up!

Yeah!

Its a new year! and may this one be as silly, fun, inspiring, productive, challenging, growth filled, and magical as the last. I have a feeling this is going to be our best year yet!

a micro vacation

Last weekend we took a micro vacation. We went to Monterey to see Micro's Grandpa and go to the Aquarium.  This year Micro really got to enjoy the aquarium. Last year he enjoyed it, but in a much different way. We had such a wonderful time and although it was just a two day "vacation" it felt like a much needed renewal of inspiration.

harvest time

Last weekend we went down the hill to a fruit harvesting and barn party. We got to pick our own manderins and take a tracter ride. Micro loved chasing chickens, eating fruit off the tree and matching all the changing leaves!

Happy Fall.... and now it is snowing!

Micro got up early this morning, I think he was channeling the Occupy movement and felt an urgent need to get to work. SO... I decided to make him an official occupy tent. Now he is busy protesting a nap!

a wee bit old

A while back we went to a railroad revival event, it was a great day! We watched as people powered vessels raced down the tracks, we ate good food, drank fresh drinks, sat on hay bails and listened to as much live music we could. Micro's favorite part was a caged bunny, he would walk over to the cage and point and say please. As if to say "mom we need a bunny at home." Thank goodness he isn't able to form full sentences just yet. I am going to have to work on thickening my skin and practice saying no, otherwise we are going to end up with a menagerie of animals... By the end of the day I wanted a bunny. DOn't tell papa!

My wee hawk. A little known fact, Micro was almost named Hawk, well Hawkins but Hawk would have been his nick!

smelling nature

Aside from kissing banana slugs for good luck, smelling trees in one of my favorite things! I can't remember a time when I didn't know to smell a tree, kiss a banana slug or catch a lizard with a single blade of grass. I can only hope Orland has the same memory when he is 33.
