Last week we went iceskating in Santa Rosa with family and it was right at nap time. Clearly O was comfortable in his uncles arms. They Skated around this way for quite a while. SOOO Sweet!

negative ions

Micro and I took a mini vacation last weekend with the mini dog in tow. We spent tons of quality friend time as well as spent some much needed time soaking in the negative ions of the beautiful pacific. What a breathe of fresh air! I am renewed and ready to roll.

We had a magical weekend with our good friends in Sonoma County! Micro grew by leaps and bounds. It was a much needed trip to the land of green grass and cows. I will post more pics soon :)

With the current lack of snow we have had a few opportunities to get outside as a family. This beautiful spot is just a hop skip and a jump from our house so we snuck down there just before sunset.

I haven't had a lot of time recently to do much else but work. But you don't hear me complaining... at least not that much. This Family photo is from a hike we took a few weeks ago up to eagle lake in Desolation Wilderness. That hike really reminded me of what a remarkably beautiful place we live. I really need to get out more :)

I love kissing my sweet boys head. I love drinking in the smell of his hair and looking into his perfect brown eyes. Lately he has been giving hugs. It is the absolute sweetest thing in the world, next to his kisses. oh and the older one isn't half bad either :)

We had an amazing time tonight at Bocce. We are on a bocce league with a couple other families and tonight was the first night. I am happy to report... WE WON! The Red Truck was there!

We had the best day yesterday. We went to the Modern Art Museum in Reno and saw THIS show that was SOOO much fun to take pictures in. This is the first museum show I have been to where they allow photography. I think it is a great way to get people to interact and experience art. We clearly had fun.

Another show at the museum was called Running the Numbers. It was by the artist Chris Jordan and it was breathe taking in a kinda sad way. It is an amazing digital photography show on American consumption. You can read about it here. I highly suggest you go see both shows!!

Asterix Helmet

Most of my family were up for xmas this week and we had a blast. My Nephews current reading, and playing obsession was the inspiration for his christmas present. An Asterix helmet, from Asterix and Obelix. I got a kids snowboarding helmet at the thrift store, spray painted it silver and drilled the wing holes. I then fashioned wings out of milk jugs, old wooden salad tongs (for reinforcement), cardboard, spandex and ultra-suede. I bought 4 large washers at the hardware store and two 1" screws. And Voila! helmet!!!

In a desperate attempt to get the micro man to sleep we have up'd the amount of solid food he is eating. And I am happy to announce that he is kinda eating it.

I am so tired! its been a long month already.

new buttons!

Another full day! I finished some little shoes just in time to put my NEW BUTTONS on them and get them into the shop for the weekend. I love vintage buttons however my stock was running low and I was having a hard time parting with some of the real gems. I designed these new buttons and had a fabulous guy in Portland Oregon make them for me.

We had a wonderful morning with our friends at our new favorite coffee shop where I ordered up a specially beautiful drink in order to take photos for my site.

Next we went and acted like tourists at Northstar, drooled over fancy, beautiful shoes, and ate a delish lunch.

Then... I got down to business sewing. I made 21 pairs of hand warmers (not pictured) and a sweet little-person sweater. All will be in the shop tomorrow!

...And of course a post on the blog wouldn't be complete without a super sweet pic of my micro man. He is such a big boy these days, sitting in highchairs!

Thanksgiving was a wonderful day here at our house. We hosted family and friends, and there was a total of 5 gluten-free pies! Yum!

Happy Halloween

O and I went to Papa's show this morning. It was AWESOME! We dressed up as a monkey and a monkey trainer. Nothing new really. Except today I got to be the trainer.

yosemite from a different lens

As I have already suggested, our trip to Yosemite was an adventure! It rained the whole time and both B and My families were there. One thing I made sure to tell everyone prior to arriving in the valley was that since it was sooo late in the season there would be NO water falling from Yosemite Falls or Bridalveil Falls. However, after the torrential downpour that we experienced, there was water coming down the falls after all (check out pic). This was an amazing sight to see so late in the season. The morning we were departing the sun poked out for a few minutes and showed the valley in all Her Fall colors.

I am determined to visit the Valley in the Winter this year. I can't wait to see Her in a blanket of white snow.
