A while back I happened upon some beautiful greeting cards that were hand embroidered in Pakistan by women. Each card sold represents one year of school for a pakistani woman. I was so struck by the beauty and work of each embroidery that I contacted the women and commissioned some pieces for a new project I am working on. The package arrived last week, I was blown away by the look of the parcel, it was so beautiful and telling. A simple cloth bag sewn shut, sealed with a tar like wax.
